Answering the question:
"Where's a good place to go?"

Our business is helping people choose the best location for their 2nd home. We do this in two ways: First we perform a detailed economic analysis and trend forecast, then we identify pre-foreclosure and distressed properties.

We seek out stable growth.

What you will find here are our discoveries. We undertake this research and share it with you so you can decide what is "good".

Durango

Yesterday was a beautiful day! "Colorado" blue skies, a blanket of white over the mountains, and absolutely perfect flying weather (we even had a tailwind). Flight time from Denver to touchdown would have been right at an hour, but we spent a little time flying in circles to enjoy the scenery.

I had two passengers, Andy - who is the Pres. of the FLC Alumni Assoc. and Heather - who was going to watch her dad win the Colorado Professor of the Year award.

I was invited to join the DBA business group for lunch. Everyone was very optimistic that their businesses were showing signs of improvement.

As far as real estate, it appears there's something for everyone. Foreclosures still exist, but are very difficult to consummate. Across the board, it appears that prices have dropped significantly.

Fort Lewis College is making some major changes. I had the chance to talk to several "administrators" and I'm pleased to report that entry and retention standards have been raised. They now require the same qualifications as the universities. They are also undergoing several large renovations around campus.

Conversations about the environment appear to be a common topic. The next significant topic was the incredible year they've had for skiing. Everyone's been talking about the "Feet" of powder.

For now, I'm going to give Durango a "Green light". As usual, I'll be coming back to attend the city council meetings. I always find good information at those. I'm interested in:

  • infrastructure improvements,

  • school issues,

  • healthcare

  • master plan developments.

  • Never Fly Solo.
